Cooperative Legal Services Delivery (CLSD)

Cooperative Legal Services Delivery Program - Central Tablelands region

The CLSD program builds and strengthens interagency networks between legal and community services in regional areas. It recognises that better coordination and cooperation in the planning and delivery of legal services will result in improved justice outcomes for disadvantaged people, especially where resources are scarce or dispersed.

How does the CLSD Program work? How can you get involved?

The CLSD Program Regional Coordinator in each region facilitates local coordination, supports local projects and convenes four regional partnership meetings each year.

Each CLSD Program region has an action plan that sets out local priorities. The action plan is based on ideas generated by the regional partners and the evidence contained in the CLSD Program Regional Profile that is prepared by the CLSD Program Unit.

The CLSD Program provides funding and other support to regional projects to address unmet legal need.

Projects include:

  • Regular joint service legal advice clinics
  • Multi-disciplinary service hubs that bring together legal and other services, such as financial counsellors and mental health workers
  • Outreach days in remote areas of NSW that bring together legal services, Revenue NSW and other agencies such as the Electricity and Water Ombudsman NSW to address financial disadvantage
  • Wills clinics for Aboriginal people
  • Early referral and intervention for families experiencing domestic and family violence
  • Traffic clinics at local courts.

There is a dedicated online portal for the Central Tablelands CLSD region. It contains information about our partners, current services, strategic plan and more. It is available here.
